What is Convocation?

Convocation is a spirit-filled weekend where children, youth, and young adults come together to worship, fellowship, and grow their faith in God.

How do I register for Convocation?

Registration is simple. Go to secsda.org, click the convocation banner on the home page, and follow the prompts to register for Children’s, Youth, and Young Adult Convocation.

Can I attend Convocation if I do not register and stay at Camp Hawthorne?

Yes, however registration includes afternoon seminars and the Convocation concerts. Meals and accommodations are available for an additional fee.

Are lodging accommodations available?

Cabins are available on a first come first serve basis for a nominal fee. Each cabin accommodates 3-4 persons.

How do I book my cabin accommodations?

One person books the cabin under their reservation and adds persons staying within the cabin under the reservation. Lastly, each person listed under the booking will have to register in order to stay within that respective cabin.

Do all cabins have a bathroom?

No, all cabins do not have a bathroom.

Is bedding available for the cabins?
Google has said for years that the most important single factor to them is high quality content. Now more than ever, they have the ability.

Will meals be provided?

Yes, you can purchase a meal plan for the weekend.

Will there be any social activities?

Yes, after sunset the youth pavilion will be open for activities e.g., the skating rink, card games, board games, etc.

What’s the weekend attire?

Camp casual. Comfortable clothing and shoes.

Is transportation provided?

Please coordinate with your local children’s, youth, and young adult ministry leaders to organize transportation.

If I want my child(ren) to attend Convocation Kids do they have to register?

Yes, to ensure enough materials and supplies please register each child.

How do I register my child(ren) for Convocation Kids?

Registration is simple. Go to secsda.org, click the convocation banner on the home page, and follow the prompts to register for Children’s, Youth, and Young Adult Convocation.

What attire should my child(ren) wear?

Comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes.

What time does Convocation Kids begin?

Convocation Kids begins at 10:00 AM.

What time is Convocation Kids morning registration/check-in?

Registration begins at 9:45 AM.

What time is morning pick-up?

After the service ends in the Main Pavilion, parents have a 15-minute window to check-out and pick up their child.

What time does the Convocation Kids afternoon program begin?

The afternoon program is scheduled for 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM.

What time is Convocation Kids afternoon check-in?

Afternoon check-in begins at 3:15 PM.

What time is afternoon pick-up?

Afternoon pick-up is at 4:45 PM.
