The faculty, staff and students of Andrews University join the rest of the country in prayers of comfort and support to those in the Hurricane-stricken areas. We have recently deployed almost 100 Andrews volunteers who will be assisting in hurricane relief in Mississippi over the Labor Day weekend.

University Administration is now offering additional assistance in ways that are concrete, and support our historic mission to educate and serve the world church. We especially want to provide hope and opportunity for Adventist students in universities and colleges in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama whose plans have been disrupted by the terrible effects of this nhurricane.

Specifically, Andrews University is offering a year of free tuition to any Adventist student who was enrolled in a university or college whose operation was interrupted by Hurricane Katrina. This plan will cover tuition, fees and books through a combination of government and Andrews University support. Each student who chooses to attend Andrews would then be responsible for room and food expenses of approximately $5,000 per school year, or 25% of the typical overall costs.

Acknowledging that communication with church members in that region is disrupted at best, and non-existent in many places, we ask for assistance in the broad Adventist community for help in identifying these displaced students and letting them know about this opportunity. If possible, please make announcements in your church this Sabbath.

Further details about this program are available on our website at www.andrews.edu then click on the link for Project Katrina. You may also call Adventist Information Ministry operators on our campus at 1-800-123-4567, who will be staffing phones during the holiday weekend. You may also call enrollment services 1-800-253-2874.

May our all-powerful God supply our deepest needs at this challenging time.
