Breath of Life Ministries will began recording new programming for its television broadcast beginning October 2, 2010. The new programming, being recorded at the Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church in Atlanta, Ga., will feature Carlton P. Byrd, DMin., senior pastor of the Berean congregation and associate speaker/director of Breath of Life Ministries.

“We know that Dr. Byrd will be able to reach the postmodern generation with his unique approach to evangelism through television ministries,” said Elder Alvin M. Kibble, Breath of Life Ministries executive committee chairman and a vice president for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America.

Dr. Byrd, an ordained minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, is a graduate of Oakwood University (formerly Oakwood College) in Huntsville, Ala. with dual degrees, a bachelor of arts degree in theology and a bachelor of science degree in business management.  He is also a graduate of Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tenn., where he earned the master of business administration degree, and a graduate of the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary in Berrien Springs, Mich., where he earned both the master of divinity degree and the doctor of ministry degree with an emphasis in African American religious studies. In 2008, he was inducted into the Martin Luther King Board of Preachers at Morehouse College.

While serving as the senior pastor of the Atlanta Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church, Dr. Byrd has baptized more than 1,200 people and launched a television ministry that currently airs weekly on two Atlanta television stations. Under his leadership, the church was awarded a $5.2 million grant from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development to construct a senior citizens housing facility. In October 2009, the Atlanta Berean Church was named the North American Division’s 2009 Innovative Church of the Year.

Personnel from the Adventist Media Center located in Simi Valley, Calif., will assist with the initial recordings. Recordings are set to be aired on national television networks including Church Channel, Word Network, Hope Channel, and 3ABN, beginning in January, 2011.  For more information, please visit or
