The Southeastern Conference Office of Education recently held a most informative Principal’s In-Service. Hubert J. Morel, president of Southeastern, set the tone for the meeting with a most inspirational devotional that challenged the principals to set the bar high.
“I have an open door policy,” stated Morel as he encouraged the principals to visit with him. Elisa Young, superintendent of Education for Southeastern, presided over the meeting. The agenda included the following items: Educational Policies, Codes, Procedures that are mandates from the Educational Departments of the North American Division, Southern Union, and Southeastern Conference.
Carol Byrd, associate superintendent, addressed curriculum items and curriculum resources were made available for all principals.

Southeastern’s resource teacher, Trina Bowden, modeled exciting science demonstrations that principals were encouraged to use in their schools.
Regina Harris, principal of Miami Union Academy, one 3 individuals selected from Southeastern to attend the “Kids In Discipleship” seminar, presented some ways that we can utilize our pastors, parents, members, grandparents, among other individuals, to serve as spiritual promoters for all of our girls and boys.
“Our prime reason for SDA Christian Education is to prepare our children to serve in this world, but most of all to enter into the pearly gates of HEAVEN with us!” |
