After hearing Keith Morris issue an altar call during divine worship at camp meeting 2008 in Hawthorne, Fla., Willie Anderson decided to take a stand to get baptized. While hundreds of individuals across North America make a decision to follow Christ every Sabbath, Anderson’s stand was unique because he made a stand while watching the webcast of the service in the Salem Church sanctuary, more than 300 miles away in Pompano Beach, Fla.

Southeastern began broadcasting its camp meeting services in 2004 on Hope TV. However, the costs associated with broadcasting camp meeting on Hope TV prompted the Conference to look for a alternate solution. The Conference decided to use the Internet and partnered with Praizevision to webcast camp meeting. The decision to use the Internet to webcast camp meeting was an easy one since Southeastern had succesfully webcast a number of Conference events before, including the 2008 session.

The use of the Internet as a broadcast medium enabled Southeastern to webcast every service during camp meeting, as well as the Wednesday night all-night prayer meeting and the children’s hour. Using the Internet to broadcast the services provided an additional benefit that broadcasting via satelite does not offer — metrics. More than 10,000 individuals from 35 U.S. states and 16 countries watched the services via the Internet.
