The Southeastern Conference Technology department will host the  annual fall meeting of the North American Division Technology Standards Committee (TSC) meeting this week, September 19 -21.  TSC is comprised of the union and local conference technology directors in the North American Division. This group meets twice a year, and is responsible for setting technology policies and trends that are implemented throughout the NAD.

This week’s meeting will mark the first time that TSC will be held at a regional conference. Southeastern is hosting the meeting as a result of a presentation on Technology Ministries that was given by Robert Henley, director of Technology Ministries at Southeastern, during the Spring Meeting of TSC, which was held in San Antonio, TX.  Nancy Lamoreaux, NAD Director of Technology stated: “Southeastern has changed the outlook of technology division wide.   We, IT professionals, have a vital role to play in the spreading of gospel.”

During this meeting the group will vote to officially change its name from Information Technology/Computer Services to Technology Ministries.   The Quebec Conference of SDA has already made the name change.  Launched in 2000, the Southeastern Conference was the first conference in the North American Division to implement Technology Ministries.
